(Medium-Advanced) "Somewhere To Go"

$50.00

Commissioned by Norwalk High School in Norwalk, IA, this piece simply sings! Beginning with a written or improvised piano introduction, “Somewhere To Go” joyfully erupts into a laid-back gospel tune with harmony that can be approached easily by alternating F major and minor pentatonic scales while still being complex enough to keep the interest of the performer and listener alike. Includes an optional part for organ if your band has two keyboardists. Solo space is included for guitar, trombone, and tenor sax, but could very easily be switched to whichever improvisors you would like to feature. There is a drum solo near the end of the chart that builds to a satisfying, jubilant conclusion.

Dedicated to the memory of my mother.

Grade 4.5. Alto 2 contains optional flute moments; Trumpet 1 up to one high D; Trombone 1 up to C, with optional high Ds.
